Yip Man
Bruce Lee's master · Foshan & Hong Kong
Yip Man (1893-1972) revealed Wing Chun to the world by teaching it openly in Hong Kong from 1949 onward. Before him, the art was transmitted almost exclusively master-to-student in family secrecy. His best-known students, including Bruce Lee, contributed to the art's global spread. He is also the direct teacher of Leung Ting, whose lineage descends to our school.
